Super Falcons want to do more declares captain Ajibade

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade has said that the Super Falcons still want to do more even after they clinched a record-extending 10th WAFCON.

Ajibade was named the MVP of the 2024 WAFCON and this was her second winners’ medal in the competition after she first won it in 2018.

“We want to do more and we want to do better,” Ajibade promised.

“Like the rest of the team, I give everything, my sweat, my blood playing for Nigeria. We don’t take this privilege for granted.”

Ajibade revealed that the team resolved to go for broke in the second half after they fell behind by two goals in the first half.

“We told ourselves that we are the better team and have the talent and that if we got a goal back, everything will change,” she said.

She said that “it means everything” to win her second WAFCON.

“The victory means everything to me,” she said.

“It wasn’t easy, it was very challenging and tough both on and off the pitch.

“We played against some very good sides and it took individual and collective  efforts to achieve what we did.”
