Super Falcons midfield star Deborah Abiodun shone for her USL team Dallas Trinity FC as they thrashed visiting Brooklyn FC 6-0 in a league match at the Cotton Bowl Stadium Dallas.
Nigerian-American Chioma Ubagogu scored the opening goal of the game in the sixth minute to unsettle their guests.
Camryn Lancaster doubled the lead for hosts in the 47th minute.
Allie Thornton scored the third goal in the 68th minute off Chioma Ubagogu, Allie Thornton made it 4-0 two minutes later connecting Chioma Ubagogu pass.
In the 78th minute, Lexi Massimo made it 5-0 before Lucy Shepherd made it 6-0 three minutes to the end of the game.
Head Coach Pauline MacDonald praised Deborah Abiodun and her teammates for a great show.
“I felt relieved with the victory. We know we have potentials in the team, we found our togetherness in the game. Our game plan, our bravery worked,” she told SCORENigeria
“After scoring two goals, we know that did not secure the victory, we wanted the third which came and we don’t want to stop. We will reflect on the game, work harder and take responsibilities.”
