SCORENigeria has scooped that the NFF have now made a sharp u-turn and are now working on appointing a technical adviser to boss coach Finidi George in the Super Eagles.
The proposal is now to be tabled before sports minister John Enoh this week.
Should the NFF get their way on this, the technical adviser will be in place before the September 2-10, when the 2025 AFCON qualifiers are expected to kick-off.
A close observer told SCORENigeria that is a clear admission by the NFF that Finidi does not have the requisite experience to lead the Super Eagles.
Under the former Enyimba coach, the Super Eagles have won one, drawn two and lost one of their matches.
The Super Eagles qualification for the 2026 World Cup is hanging by a thread after they could only manage three points from four matches.
