Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has raised alarm over what he described as a blackmail to extort many millions of Naira from him.
Reports out of Ukraine said a court has awarded Ideye’s ex-wife, Yana Voloschenko $172,000 (over 290 Million Naira) as cost for the upkeep of his children with her.
Voloschenko dismissed Ideye as “a liar”, “a coward” and “criminal”.
Ideye took to social media to deny the woman and that he never received any court summons in respect of this case.
“This had come to my notice and I just want to make it clear that I don’t know this woman or have anything with her,” the former Dynamo Kiev star posted on Instagram
“She’s not my wife or my ex-wife.
“Long time ago, I was connected on IG by some page I don’t know, asking me for money in which I declined and block(ed).
“Every day they keep opening new IG accounts, writing my friends and loved ones about bullshit like this.
“My lawyers home and abroad didn’t receive any letter from a court about this issue.”
He further said this was a clear-cut case of blackmail to extort money from him.
“I played 2 years in Ukraine, throughout my time there my family was with me,” he explained.
“Only for me to leave and some fools (to) think they can make some money from me blackmailing me about some stupid baby shit.
“If you need money that bad go and work or go look for another black footballer to blackmail.
“I’m too smart for all this bullshit.”
Ideye, 36, played for Dynamo Kiev between 2011 and 2014.
He scored 34 goals in 74 appearances.
