Super Eagles star: We will win remaining matches to qualify for 2026 World Cup

The Super Eagles will win their remaining qualifying matches beginning with next month’s games to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, according to former international Godwin Okpara.

Former PSG defender Okpara featured for Nigeria at the 1998 World Cup in France.

“It’s still in our hands to qualify and I have that confidence, we have quality players, this is time for them to wake up, player for player no comparisons,” Okpara said in a radio interview monitored by SCORENigeria

“We will qualify by winning our remaining matches.”

Okpara said the players are fired up by the chance to feature at the global showpiece event.

“Has Osimhen played at the World Cup?,” he asked.

“It’s every player’s dream to play in the World Cup. The whole team want to qualify for the World Cup.”

He also said he expects the Super Eagles to shine at the 2025 AFCON.

“I expect us to qualify from their group along with Tunisia, but at the same time there are no guarantees because all the teams want to win and have improved,” he said.

“All nations have upgraded, foreign coaches and players playing professional overseas.”
