Super Eagles rivals Benin seek to end poor away record vs Zimbabwe

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will today hope to end Benin poor away record when they take on Zimbabwe in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in Durban, South Africa.

The Cheetahs of Benin have not won on their travels for over three years.

Benin are the front runners of Group C with seven points from four matches, while Zimbabwe are bottom of the standings with two points.

Rohr is confident ahead of this clash.

Everything is up for grabs, everything is open. If we get a good result, we could be in a good position,” the Franco-German said.

“We respect our opponents, who qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations and have a very good coaching staff with a coach I’ve known for over 30 years. I’m sure he’s prepared his squad well.”

Kick-off time is 5pm.
