Super Eagles bullish of victory vs Rwanda even without top stars

The Super Eagles have expressed confidence of a win over Rwanda today even though they will be without three starters in Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

The Super Eagles have already qualified for the 2025 AFCON as Group winners, but coach Augustine Eguavoen insisted they will be gunning for victory.

Rwanda, on the other hand, need to win today to have any chance to qualify for the AFCON.

“The players are 100% professional, they know what it takes to win games,” caretaker coach Eguavoen said ahead of this final qualifier against Rwanda.

“We’re prepared to meet Rwanda as we would have prepared to face Brazil.

“Whoever is picked to play, we will have a good game.”

Captain William Ekong was also confident they will not take this clash lightly even after they have already secured qualification to next year’s AFCON.

“We’re not taking this game lightly, we want to be the best team in Africa,” he asserted.

“We want to win the game to make the fans happy.

“It’s an opportunity to impress at home.”

Kick-off today at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo is 5pm.
