Sports Minister: New Super Eagles coach ‘sooner rather than later’

Sports Minister John Enoh has said a new coach for the Super Eagles will be appointed before the 2025 AFCON qualifiers next month.

The Sports minister said this was the immediate responsibility of the NFF, but was confident that this appointment will be effected before Nigeria welcome Benin to Uyo on September 7 in a 2025 AFCON qualifier.

“The appointment will be sooner rather than later,” Enoh said a Channels TV programme Politics Tonight today.

As SCORENigeria earlier reported today, “major steps” will be taken in respect of a new coach “in the coming days”.

Finidi George succeeded Jose Peseiro in May only to quit a month ago thus leaving the post of the Super Eagles coach vacant eversince.
