Eric Sekou Chelle, who was shortlisted for the Super Eagles post, has been appointed as new coach of top Algerian club MC Oran.
He has agreed a two-year contract with MC Oran, who have not won a major trophy for almost three decades.
The 46-year-old coach, who led Mali to the 2023 AFCON, was in the running for the Super Eagles top coaching post and even held talks with the NFF leadership in France.
The NFF eventually settled for Augustine Eguavoen as interim coach for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
