SCORENigeria Top 5: Osimhen, Moffi fire on ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers

Super Eagles strikers Victor Osimhen and Terem Moffi justified their places on a provisional squad for next month’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, just as defender Uchenna Aririerisim also showed he can score goals in the Czech Liga.

5.Olarewaju Kayode

Even at 32, Olarewaju Kayode is not slowing down as he scored one of the goals for his Turkish club Esenier Erokspor in their 5-0 win over Serik Spor. The former Austria Wien striker scored in the 42nd minute of the game to give his side a 2-0 lead. Kayode scored 14 goals in the league last season.

3.Rafiu Durosinmi

The big striker opened scoring for Viktoria Plzen to beat Karvina 2-1 at home. He hit target in the 35th minute to net his second league goal of the new season.  Plzen are fifth on the table with 11 points from six matches.

Aririerisim fires at goal for Sparta Praha

2.Uchenna Aririerisim

Former Banik Ostrava defender was the star for Sparta in a 3-2 victory over Dukla in a Praha Derby. The 22-year-old right centre back struck twice, in the 20th and 74th minutes, to ensure victory for Sparta. He has already improved his goals tally from last season when he scored a goal in 26 appearances. Sparta top the standings on 16 points after six rounds of matches, two points ahead of city rivals and defending champions Slavia.

2. Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray record transfer signing has begun paying off the fortune the Turkish champions splashed to snap him up from Napoli as he scored his first goal of the new season in a 4-0 win over Kayserispor. Galatasaray have won all three of their opening games of the new season. It was Osimhen’s 38th goal in 43 appearances for the Istanbul giants after he fired 37 goals last season.

1.Terem Moffi

The Super Eagles striker showed that he has fully recovered from an ACL injury that cost him most of last season when he came off the bench to score his first goal of the new campaign. He hit target in the 76th minute and was only denied a brace in stoppage time as OGC Nice defeated Auxerre 3-1. He earned a decent rating of 7.6.

The Golden Eaglets led by coach Manu Garba have named a final squad for this year’s WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers.
