SCORENigeria Top 5: Onyedika, Iwobi, Gift Orban are show stealers

Raphael Onyedika shone for Club Brugge to post a huge home win over AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League as Alex Iwobi and Gift Orban bagged Man of the Match awards in the Premier League and Italian Serie A respectively.

5.Olanrewaju Kayode

Even at the ripe old age of 32, this much-travelled striker has continued to score goals. He is now one of the leading scorers in the Turkish second division with five goals after he fired another brace for his club Erokspor to climb to the top of the table courtesy of a thrilling 4-3 win at Manisa FK. It was their fourth straight win as they aim for promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.

4.Paul Onuachu

The big striker scored his third goal of the season to save Trabzonspor blushes as they salvaged a 1-1 draw at home with Gazaintep. His tally is a goal shy of the Turkish Super Lig leading scorer Youssef En-Nesyri of Fenerbache. Onuachu is back to familiar grounds in Turkey and he is enjoying it.

3.Gift Orban

The Super Eagles invitee was named Man of the Match as home team Hellas Verona denied Juventus victory at the weekend. He put away the penalty for Verona to salvage a draw with ‘The Old Lady’. He was lively upfront for his modest club and this goal is expected to be the first of many for the shooting star.

2.Alex Iwobi

With his parents in the stands, the Super Eagles forward was the Man of the Match for Fulham to shoot past fellow Londoners Brentford 3-1 in the Premier League. He drew his team level after Brentford had stunned the home fans with the opening goal, before he delivered a fine assist for his team to take the lead for the first time.

1.Raphael Onyedika

The midfielder returned to club action after he did not enjoy any minute of action in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa to score in the UEFA Champions League tie against AS Monaco. Club Brugge were truly at home as they smashed past the French Ligue 1 team 4-1 to get off to a flying start in the group phase of the Champions League. He then followed up that performance by helping his Belgian club to beat Saint-Truiden 2-0 in the league. Club Brugge are third in the league standings with 13 points from eight matches, seven points adrift of leaders and defending champions Union St.Gilloise.
