In the week when he was one of 10 top players to be shortlisted by CAF for the African Footballer of the Year for 2024, Ademola Lookman was simply majestic with a telling Man-of-the-Match performance for Atalanta BC to sweep aside Verona in the Italian Serie A.

The former Flying Eagles striker finally opened his goals account in Belgium with a first-half brace for OH Leuven to win at Sporting Charleroi. It has taken him 11 appearances to score his first goals, but there will be many more from those boots. 4.Tolu Arokodare

The striker must have enhanced his stocks with Super Eagles scouts on the back of his eighth goal of the season with Belgian league leaders Genk. It was the opening goal that inspired Genk to win 2-0 at Gent. He is joint leading scorer in the Belgian league and his club continue to sit proudly at the summit of the championship, five points clear of their nearest rivals after a dozen matches.

The Super Eagles forward returned to Goodison Park to haunt former club Everton by putting Fulham ahead in a Premier League game.
