Music producer Samklef has reignited controversy surrounding the late Mohbad’s death by calling out social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over his sudden shift in stance on the case.
In a recent post, Samklef shared an old video of VDM where the activist had strongly called for the cancellation of Naira Marley and the entire Marlian Records, holding them responsible for Mohbad’s tragic death.

However, Samklef pointed out that VDM has now made a complete turnaround, claiming that the Marlian crew is no longer to blame.
Samklef questioned the motive behind VDM’s change of heart, stating that the activist’s new position on the matter was influenced by money.
He claimed the turning point came after VDM was allegedly contacted by the self-acclaimed entertainer, Tunde Ednut, who gave him ₦1 million. Samklef implied that this incident marked the beginning of VDM’s altered narrative, distancing the Marlian camp from any involvement in Mohbad’s demise.
Further intensifying his claims, Samklef accused Tunde Ednut of working behind the scenes for Naira Marley and Sam Larry, suggesting there has been a deliberate effort to control the public narrative around the singer’s death.
Although Samklef did not provide direct evidence, he stated that he would reveal more details later.

He wrapped his comments with a jab at VDM, indicating that the activist, who once led a loud campaign against the Marlian crew, has become complicit by “dining with darkness.”

Samklef reveals how VDM got secret WhatsApp chat
Meanwhile, TheTalk.NG reported that Samklef responded to accusations from VeryDarkMan linking him to a secret WhatsApp group discussing Mohbad’s death.
In a series of posts, Samklef alleged that VDM paid ₦20 million to access the group’s messages, claiming the activist admitted it publicly.
He also accused VDM of trying to divert funds meant for his NGO. The drama triggered backlash from fans, who questioned Samklef’s claims and urged him to respond to VDM’s earlier revelations instead of deflecting blame.
