Rwanda list 13 foreign pros for Super Eagles showdown

The Amavubi of Rwanda have listed as many as 13 foreign-based professionals for a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Super Eagles Friday.

Captain and midfielder Bizimana Djihad from Al Ahli Tripoli heads the pros mostly plying their trade in North Africa.

Midfielder Mugisha Bonheur is from Stade Tunisien (Tunisia), striker Ishimwe Anicet features for Olympique Beja in Morocco and defender Manzi Thierry is a teammate of skipper Djihad at Ahli Tripoli.

The provisional squad to be cut down this week also has Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre, who was Man of the Match when Rwanda held the Super Eagles to a scoreless draw last year in Kigali.

The call-ups are mainly from the country’s top clubs APR, Rayon Sports and Police FC.

Just like Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, it will be the debut for Rwanda new coach Adel Amarouche on Friday in Kigali.
