Rohr speaks on PSG defender who snubbed Benin

Benin will be in Uyo against the Super Eagles without Colin Dagba after the PSG defender asked he be left out of the squad, according to coach Gernot Rohr.

Dagba’s exclusion was a major talking point after Rohr named a final 25-man squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles and Libya next month.

Rohr has commented on the continued absence of the player.

“I’m still in touch with him. He wasn’t even on the provisional squad. He told me he’s not ready to come with us,” he disclosed.

“We hope he’ll end up saying yes. We have to give him time.”

“It’s like when you want to date a girl. The more you want to go for her, maybe the less she’ll want to. So, that’s the situation we’re in. Trust us and give him time to come by himself…”, he added.

Dagba, 25, is presently trying to sort out his future as he is not in the immediate plans of PSG coach Luis Enrique.
