Rohr names Benin squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will on March 10 announce his Benin squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Benin are front runners in Group C with seven points from four matches, same as leaders Rwanda and second-placed South Africa.

The Super Eagles are also in the same World Cup qualifying group in fifth place with three points.

Rohr has been in charge of the Cheetahs of Benin for two years during which he has compiled a record of four wins, eight draws and six losses in 18 matches.

He qualified the team to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.


Super Eagles captain injury ‘not serious’
Officials have admitted Super Eagles captain William Ekong is injured, but it is “not serious enough” to keep him out of must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe later this month.
