Rita Dominic, a veteran Nollywood actress, has taken a walk down memory lane as she opened up about her early days in the Nigerian film industry alongside fellow screen star Genevieve Nnaji.
Rita took to Instagram to share a snapshot of herself and the actress on her 50th birthday a month ago, mentioning that when they first started their careers in Nollywood, they were just “passionate girls” with a dream.

She stated that they had no clue about the wonderful journey that lay ahead or how the industry would grow to affect the entire world.
Rita said that looking around and realising how far they’d come made her proud, and that they didn’t walk alone.
She wrote:
“When we started in Nollywood all those years ago, we were just passionate girls with a dream. We had no idea the incredible journey ahead or how our industry would grow to touch the entire world. To look around today and see how far we’ve come… It fills my heart with pride. No matter what, we did not walk alone.”

This was after the Nollywood on Saturday, July 19, threw a lavish birthday party to mark a major milestone in her life.
Amid the excitement, the celebrant shared a video from her party capturing her and Genevieve strutting for the camera.
Rita Dominic revealed that she and Genevieve Nnaji, just popular speculation, were both from Mbaise, Imo state.
She further hailed her hometown in her dialect as a place that produces great personalities.

Genevieve Nnaji and Rita Dominic were co-stars in hit movies like Goodbye New York, released in 2004, and Girl Cot, released in 2006.
