Osimhen injury not serious, fit for Champions League game

Victor Osimhen will feature in a UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt as the injury he suffered on Super Eagles duty is not as serious as first feared.

The striker will miss this weekend’s Turkish Super Lig match against Eyupspor, but will be fit for the Champions League tie against Frankfurt on September 18, according to Turkish journalist Haluk Yurekli of Spor Gecesi Digital

Osimhen was forced out of a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Uyo after a crunchy tackle.

Despite pleas by top officials to at least accompany the Super Eagles to a must-win game in South Africa, Osimhen chose to fly private jet sent for him by his club Galatasaray back to Turkey.
