Osimhen going…going…to Saudi Arabia after Chelsea deal off

With a transfer to Chelsea off despite the frenzy from Nigeria on social media, Victor Osimhen now looks more likely to head to Saudi Arabia.

Top Saudi club Al Ahli are now understood to have tabled a 70 Million Euros bid for the Napoli striker.

They would most likely have to improve on this to get their top target.

Al Ahli will also have to agree personal terms with Osimhen.

It would be recalled that the player himself admitted that it was most tempting when the Saudis first came calling for him last summer.

Then they offered him about a Million dollars-a-week.

Top Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla said Saudi Arabia is the most realistic destination for Osimhen now.

He reported that the Saudis have shown strong interest in the 25-year-old striker and are back for him in the absence of suitors in the final week leading to the close of the transfer window.

In September, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said that “with 200 Million Euros the Arabs couldn’t take a foot of Osimhen”.

In January, the agent of Napoli star Kvaratskhelia announced Osimhen will move to Saudi Arabia only for the Super Eagles star to issue a violent response.

The transfer to Chelsea was never going to get off the ground because of major issues – from Osimhen’s salary demand, a 130 Million Euros release clause as well as the Premier League club’s insistence on a loan transfer.

However, the transfer window does not close until Friday midnight and as such nothing can be ruled out in this unending saga.
