Osimhen, Ademola Lookman lead Super Eagles against Benin, Rwanda

Strikers Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have been named by the Super Eagles for final 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.

The Super Eagles are away to Benin in Abidjan on November 14, before a final qualifier in Uyo against Rwanda four days later.

Osimhen is staging a return to the team after injury at Turkish champions Galatasaray ruled him out of last month’s qualifiers against Libya.

There is also a recall for Real Sociedad striker Sadiq Umar and Gabriel Osho from French club Auxerre, while Nasarawa United central defender Victor Collins is the only player called up from the NPFL.

England-based Taiwo Awoniyi and Benjamin Tanimu have been left out.

Otherwise, caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has kept faith with the core of the team he has worked with since the qualifying tournament began in September.

Nigeria lead Group D with 10 points from four matches, Benin are second on six points, while Rwanda are third in the standings having recorded five points.

Libya are bottom on a point.
