Paul Onuachu is most likely not to have suffered a serious injury after he was forced out of a Premier League clash against Liverpool.
Southampton boss Russel Martin said he believes the giant striker may have suffered more from fatigue than a problem with his knee that he had to quit the game Sunday.
“Paul probably deserved to start before now, the way he’s trained – he’s been so good,” Martin said.
“He was really good, so I hope his injury is nothing too serious. It’s just a bit of fatigue, but I thought he played really, really well.”
The striker will hope to play a bigger role as Suthampton fight their way to safety after a sluggish start to life back in the top league in England.
‘The Saints’ remain rock bottom of the table with four points from 12 matches.
