Oluwo of Iwo: Ooni of Ife Narrates Incident That Transpired When He Visited Colleague

Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, has recounted a dramatic experience during a recent visit to the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi.

In a video that has gone viral, Ogunwusi detailed how he was allegedly chased out of Oluwo’s castle, leaving many stunned and disbelieving.

While the Ooni of Ife maintained a courteous demeanour throughout the video, refraining from addressing any disputes and showing respect for his fellow king, the details of his visit reveal a deeper divide.

Speaking, the Ooni of Ife said:

“When I visited Oluwo, he chased me out like a child. Since that incident, I have always maintained myself going close to him. Now that you people (attendees) are imploring that I visit him again, what if he does what he likes to me?

“But I have to contain his excesses as an elder, although I am a young person sitting on the throne of the elders. Oluwo, I greet you.”

Meanwhile, TheTalk.NG reported that the Ooni of Ife and one of his queens, Olori Ashley Folashade, named their newborn prince.

On Ooni’s official Instagram page, a video from the child’s extravagant naming ceremony was posted, with the prince’s name being announced in the audio.

Some of the names listed are Adebiyi, Foladade and Adewale, among others.

Ooni of Ife’s daughter attends his birthday

TheTalk.NG earlier reported that Ooni of Ife’s daughter was also in attendance at his 50th birthday party. A video made the rounds showing the young princess at the star-studded occasion, drawing the attention of many.

In the clip posted on Instagram by @Goldmynevibes and spotted by TheTalk.NG, the young princess was rocking a lovely gold dress with silver stoned details on the bodice.
