Super Eagles co-ordinator Patrick Pascal has lavished praise on the professionalism and discipline of players of the national team even though they are owed monies.
The Super Eagles are still owed bonuses and allowances going as far back as 2020 even after the Federal Government paid the NFF a bailout fund to clear these monies.
Pascal, himself a former international, said the Super Eagles have held their peace even though they are being owed bonuses and allowances.
“These are players that don’t put money first before playing for Nigeria, even though they are being owed, you wouldn’t hear from them, that is discipline, commitment to their mother land,” he saluted their character.
“These are players that showed total commitment to their coaches, the Nigeria Football Federation and their country Nigeria.
“Each player even forgets his star status at club level. They fight for this country.”
The Super Eagles top official defended the team’s shock 2-1 home loss to Rwanda in a final Group D 2025 AFCON qualifier.
Group D rivals Libya have even accused Nigeria of throwing away that game to ensure they do not qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
“You see, many Nigerians wouldn’t understand that the players that have been on the benach for so long need to be given the chance to prove themselves, that was the only opportunity,” Patrick Pascal explained.
“So, what happened is just a game, no sell-out at all.
“Who is the player they can buy in that team?”
