Official: New Flying Eagles coach to wait

The appointment of a new coach for the Flying Eagles is likely to be delayed after the NFF technical committee could not deliberate on this during their meeting.

An official informed SCORENigeria that the committee spent Thursday’s entire meeting in Abuja on the appointment of a new coach for the Super Eagles.

“That was the priority appointment because of the delays and also the fact that the 2025 AFCON qualifiers are upon us,” the official said.

The Flying Eagles head coach position, which was last held by Ladan Bosso, has been declared vacant with various interested coaches at home and abroad submitting applications.

The Flying Eagles are due to open training camp in September ahead of a WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament the following month.
