Super Eagles fans can be rest assured that new coach Eric Chelle will not bow to pressure even from high places in his team selection.
A source close to the new Super Eagles coach told only SCORENigeria that Eric Chelle has maintained the highest professionalism when it comes to team call-ups and selection.
“He has made it very clear that he alone is in charge of the team, he invites the players and he picks those who will start for his team,” the source said.
“I remember in Mali he had a problem with one of the federation’s top officials because of this team selection and eventually his sack by the federation.”
He is also a very strict disciplinarian, the source added.
“Discipline is the watch word for Eric,” he said.
“All players have to adhere to camp rules, if you don’t you are fined.
“Camp discipline is priority and Eric is the task master.”
