Samu Omorodion, who has been dubbed as ‘The New Osimhen’, has joined Portuguese giants FC Porto after a proposed transfer to Chelsea crashed.
FC Porto confirmed the transfer on their official website.
He has signed a contract until the summer of 2029.
Porto paid Atletico Madrid 15 Million Euros as transfer fee.
They also paid 15 Million Euros for 50% of the player’s image rights, Atletico own the other 50%.
His buyout clause is 100 Million Euros.
Earlier this month, the 20-year-old striker looked all set to join Chelsea until some major issues put paid to that switch.
Omorodion, who parents are Nigerian even though he was born in Spain, said he is looking forward to the challenge of playing for a top club like Porto.
“I am proud to be part of a club like FC Porto with enormous history,” he said.
“I know what a responsibility it is to play here, where forwards like Gomes, Jardel, Falcao or Jackson Martínez have been, but I know that I am prepared.”
