New Drama As VeryDarkMan Calls Out EFCC for Seizing His Phones in Video, Makes Demands in Video

  • VeryDarkMan, in a new video, expressed frustration as he called out the EFCC for seizing his phone since his arrest in May 2025
  • The social media critic sent a message to the EFCC, demanding his prosecution before a court, or the return of his phones
  • VeryDarkMan also shared why he was in need of his phones, stirring another round of reactions online

Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has expressed his frustration in a new video, accusing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of unlawfully seizing his phones following his arrest in May 2025.

In his message to the EFCC, VeryDarkMan demanded either his prosecution in court or the immediate return of his phones.

He also explained the importance of his phones for his business activities, particularly in helping Nigerian youths explore entrepreneurial opportunities with Chinese companies.

In the video shared on his social media timeline, the critic revealed that despite not being charged or taken to court, the EFCC had failed to return his phones.

He pointed out that his inability to access his contacts was limiting his ability to assist others.

VeryDarkMan also voiced his suspicions that big businesses might be behind the delay in returning his phones, claiming their influence was blocking his efforts to connect Nigerian youths with Chinese manufacturers and production companies.

He added that the commission was yet to make public his offence since his arrest in May.

“I am begging you to either take me to court or give me my phones. I went to China, made connections with manufacturers and CEOs of production companies. This cost me time and money. All of this I did to help many Nigerian youths explore business opportunities, such as importing goods. You all have my phone, and it is restricting me from helping people. GIVE ME MY PHONES OR TAKE ME TO COURT AND TELL NIGERIANS WHAT I DID,” VeryDarkMan wrote in the caption of the video.

Recall that VeryDarkMan’s arrest in May 2025 garnered significant media attention. The EFCC had invited him for questioning following multiple allegations related to financial crimes.

However, after being detained, he was eventually released.
