AJ Auxerre defender Gabriel Osho has vowed to do everything in a Super Eagles shirt.
The big central defender was first called up by the Super Eagles in March 2024, when he was in the Premier League with Luton Town, but injury prevented him from honouring the invitation.
He has now been handed a second chance for 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin Thursday and Rwanda next week Tuesday.
“I’ll just work as hard as I can, and I think that’s what the fans expect from every single player here,” the 26-year-old Osho declared on arrival in the Super Eagles camp in Abidjan.
“As long as everyone works as hard as they can; everyone is talented enough to be here. So now it’s just applying that and the work ethic. That’s what I got; much hard work, and everything for the shirt.”
England-born Osho said it is a great honour to be called up by highly-talented team like Nigeria.
“All you have to do is look at the frontline; you see the names of all the players that are here and the ones who could not be selected for the squad this time, the country is full of talented players,” he reasoned.
“So it’s very competitive to get a call up, and like I said, it’s a great honor for me because I know there are so many great players from Nigeria that aren’t here.”
