Head of Landlords in Ikorodu Recalls Night of Singer Mohbad‘s Death
In a video circulating online, the Head of Landlords in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state has recalled what transpired on the night that singer Mohbad died. He alleged that Mohbad’s father wanted to bury him on the midnight of the day he died, but he stopped him. The singer was eventually buried the following day.
The video shows the Head of Landlords speaking in Yoruba, as he recounts the events of that night. He says that he was called to Mohbad’s house in the middle of the night, and when he arrived, he found Mohbad’s father already preparing to bury him.
The Head of Landlords says that he tried to explain to Mohbad’s father that it was not customary to bury someone so soon after their death, but Mohbad’s father was adamant. He said that he had already received permission from the authorities to bury his son, and that he was determined to do so.
However, the Head of Landlords was able to convince Mohbad’s father to wait until the following day to bury his son. He says that he explained to Mohbad’s father that it was important to give family and friends a chance to say goodbye to their loved one.
The Head of Landlords also says that he helped to arrange Mohbad’s funeral, and that he was buried the following day in accordance with Muslim tradition.
It is unclear why Mohbad’s father wanted to bury him so soon after his death. However, the Head of Landlords’ account suggests that he may have been motivated by grief and a desire to see his son laid to rest as quickly as possible.

Mohbad’s Death
Mohbad, whose real name was Habeeb Okikiola, died on September 12, 2023 at the age of 27. The cause of his death is still under investigation, but there have been reports that he may have been assaulted by members of his record label.
Mohbad’s death has sparked outrage and calls for justice from his fans and colleagues in the music industry. Many people have taken to social media to express their condolences and to demand answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.
The police are currently investigating Mohbad’s death, and several people have been arrested in connection with the case. However, no charges have been filed at this time.
