JAMB result 2025: Nigerian boy scores 344 in UTME, makes 98 marks in physics and…

A Nigerian boy has been praised by his school due to how well he performed in the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME.

The boy did so well in the four subjects he wrote that his school referred to him as a champion.

The brilliant kid is identified as Gbore Oluwaferanmi, Greater Tomorrow International College, Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State.

According to the result which was sent to TheTalk.NG by the school, Gbore is a science student and he took four subjects.

The subjects he took include physics, English Language, chemistry and biology.

A breakdown of Gbore’s result shows that he scored 98 marks in physics, 90 in chemistry, 76 in English language and 80 in biology. His total marks come to 344.

In a brief chat with TheTalk.NG, the school said Gbore was happy and enthusiastic about his result.

The school says Gbore appreciated the teachers who took time to prepare him for the examination.

According to the school, it has teachers who worked hard to prepare their students to do well in examinations such as JAMB UTME.

The school said:

“He was very enthusiastic and thanked God for his success. He appreciated the hard work and efforts of his teachers. Greater Tomorrow International College has committed and diligent staff who go the extra mile to teach students all concepts of their external examinations. The school has different academic programs that adequately prepare students for the exams.”

Is the 2025 JAMB result out?

JAMB has released the statistical analysis of the 2025 UTME, which was taken by 1,955,069 candidates.

Candidates can access their results through their phones by sending “RESULT” in an SMS to 55019 or 66019.

However, it has to be with the phone number which the candidates used to register for the examination.

The result can also be checked through the JAMB’s website.

Candidates’ performance in 2025 UTME

On Monday, May 5, the examination body said that out of the 40,247 underage candidates allowed to write the exam in 2025, only a fraction of 1.6% (467) passed.

Of the over 1 million candidates who sat the exam, 97 were caught for examination malpractices. 2,597 were still undergoing investigation for infractions. The number of candidates who scored 300 and above was pegged at 0.2%

Academics react to 2025 UTME performance

The Congress of University Academics (CONUA) said the low performance in this year’s UTME is a wake-up call on the condition of education in the country.

Speaking with The Sun, the head of the congress, Niyi Sunmonu, said:

“The data presents to all of us, a sobering reflection of the state of our nation’s basic and secondary education system.”

He spoke further:

“This result kills the morale of those of us who believe that working hard for a better education outcome is not doing the right thing. It demoralises to say the least.”

Girl who went to write JAMB goes missing

Earlier, TheTalk.NG reported that a Nigerian girl who went to write the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) had gone missing.

Her family raised an alarm on X, and a search started immediately after the JAMB candidate was not seen in 24 hours.

However, on Saturday, April 26, her brother made another post, indicating that the girl has been found in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state.

Esther’s brother, Rickson____ wrote:

“It’s almost 24 hours we haven’t heard from my sister, she was going to Epe from Ajah around 1pm yesterday (Thursday) for her JAMB exam today…. The last message she sent her other sister was that “I’m scared I think I entered wrong car my eyes is itchy e be like I want to slip.”
