Ighalo row with ex-wife trends again on social media

Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo and his ex-wife Sonia are trending on social media after another round of exchanges between the two.

Sonia Adesuwa, who has been known to lash out at the Super Eagles star over his love life, posted a lengthy apology to her ex on Instagram after he had asked her to take a break.

“I would be obsessed too. Rest naaaa for Christ’s Sake. Even devil dey rest sometimes. Lies upon lies upon lies every day. Hmmm, but I dey too busy dey look for my daily bread to stress about irrelevant things. I pray you find peace,”Ighalo urged his ex-wife after she reported he was expecting a child with his fiancée.

She then posted: “My guy I won’t reply to all the gibberish you posted. I know you are still hurt because I wasted your flight tickets. (For not showing up) I am sorry, Wowo.”

And then followed up with an apology, where she described him as “my beloved super star” and “wonderful man”.

“Many individuals assert that I possess a powerful, mysterious allure, which is why I am particularly cautious about the people I allow into my life,” Sonia began.

“Ending a relationship or friendship is always challenging for me. My beloved super star, we’ve journeyed far together, and I’m truly grateful for the grace God has bestowed upon our lives.

“We both struggled to make this work, even in the face of divorce.

“I understand how careful you were to keep your family in the dark about what was happening behind closed doors, knowing that it would start another fight and I know how hard you fought to be a loving father to your children despite family pressures.

“I understand the emotional pain you’re experiencing due to your separation from your beloved family (John 10:10), despite your efforts to portray a false sense of happiness on Instagram to appease them.

“You are a wonderful man, and I will always be there for you physically and spiritually”.

She continued: “I am using this opportunity to express my sincere apologies for the negative impact my posts may have had on you.

“Given the nature of your job, peace is essential for you, and because of your purity, I bear no resentment towards you.

“I believe the greatest blessing for a child is to be born to a loving mother (not evil). We’ve both forgiven each other and realised our mistakes.

“If I could wish anything at this moment, it would be for divine grace and strength from God to help us co-parent harmoniously and ensure our children feel a sense of pride in us. I wish you all the best. Obulu Papa.”
