Legendary singer Daddy Showkey reveals death threats from government officials after speaking out about Mohbad‘s death
In a recent interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, veteran singer Daddy Showkey raised concerns about threats to his life after speaking out about the circumstances of rapper Mohbad’s death.
Showkey, known for his hit song “Galala,” had suggested that Mohbad’s death was not an isolated incident and involved influential figures in the music industry and society.
During a second appearance on Freeze’s Instagram live session, Showkey revealed that he had received death threats from government officials since his initial comments.
“Daddy Freeze, do you know after my last interview with you, I received a lot of death threats?” Showkey said. “Do you know after that interview, even people in government were threatening me?
“I told them that they should go and watch your interview, did I say anything wrong? And what I’m saying, I’m saying the truth.”
Showkey went on to say that he had not slept since receiving the threats and that he was concerned for his safety.
“You would not believe what I went through. I did not sleep throughout that night. They were just threatening me,” he said.
“Daddy Freeze, I don’t know what you are going through with all these things you are doing o. Because the kind of threats that they threatened me, I come dey talk say what of you?”
Showkey’s revelation has sparked outrage among Nigerians and raised concerns about the safety of those who speak out against injustice.
