An experimental Super Eagles starting XI are being held to a goalless draw by Rwanda in a final Group D 2025 AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen made as many as seven changes to the team who started against Benin in Abidjan Thursday night.
Scorer against Benin Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi were all dropped to the bench, while Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman and Stanley Nwabali, who all withdrew for various reasons.
It was an even first half with the Super Eagles enjoying more of the ball (58% ball possession), while the visitors played two corners as against Nigeria’s one.
The biggest chance of the first 45 minutes fell to Kelechi Iheanacho, whose left-footed strike from inside the box was clocked by Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Ntwari.
Moses Simon has threatened from the left flank but the Super Eagles will need to fortify the attack after the break for the Super Eagles to win this contest.
