HALFTIME: Rwanda 0 Super Eagles 2

The Super Eagles lead by two Victor Osimhen goals halfway through this must-win 2026 World Cup qualifier in Rwanda.

Osimhen showed his sharpness in front of goal when stabbed home a freekick by Ademola Lookman after 10 minutes of action.

Captain William Ekong almost profited from another Ademola Lookamn free kick six minutes later but his header flew wide off target.

In the 24th minute, Moses Simon was denied his moment of glory by the diving Rwanda goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, who parried for a corner his curling effort from inside the box.

The home team grew in confidence and even enjoyed more of the possession, but against the run of play Osimhen broke free in first half stoppage time to double Nigeria’s lead.

He dinked the ball over an onrushing Rwanda goalkeeper for Nigeria to go into the dressing room with two goals in the bag.

Osimhen has now netted 25 goals for the Super Eagles.

Super Eagles Starting XI vs Rwanda (4-4-2):

Nwabali – Ola Aina,  Osayi-Samuel, Ekong (Captain), Bassey – Ndidi, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Moses Simon – Ademola Lookman, Osimhen
