HALFTIME: CHAN Eagles 0 Congo 0

After suffering a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Sudan last week, the CHAN Eagles are so far holding their own against Congo in tonight’s final Group D match of the 2024 CHAN.

The CHAN Eagles are playing for pride after they were eliminated after their second group game, while Congo have to win to advance to the quarterfinal.

They have two points from as many matches.

In the other group game being played at the same time, Senegal and Sudan are also playing out a scoreless draw by the half time.

The CHAN Eagles have played well as they are not under pressure, they have created the better chances, but have yet score their first goal of the competition.

Teenaged goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt from the country’s U20s has so far not been tested as Nigeria have been the ones who have looked the more likely to score in this contest.

Congo will have to take the game to the Nigerians after the break if they hoped to still be alive after this clash tonight.

CHAN Eagles Starting XI: Harcourt – Sodiq, Taiwo, Manyo, Nduka (Captain – Tochukwu, Adedayo, Akanni, Oyowah – Yusuf, Alimi
