‘Force of nature’ Chrisantus Uche set to be Super Eagles joker vs South Africa

Crystal Palace new signing Chrisantus Uche could well be the joker for the Super Eagles in a match they are condemned to win tomorrow in South Africa, according to a top team source.

Nigeria have their backs to the wall as they have to win tomorrow to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next year’s World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.

And now in the absence of star striker Victor Osimhen, Uche could well be the man to get the Super Eagles to soar past hosts Bafana Bafana in Bloemfontein tomorrow.

His physicality and directness as a second striker in Super Eagles training in Uyo got many talking and it was something of a surprise that he did not feature in the Rwanda match.

“Uche may well be the joker for the Super Eagles in South Africa,” a source close to the team informed SCORENigeria

“He can play as a second striker or false striker that he plays for Getafe before he transferred to the Premier League last week.

“He is a real handful for any defence because of his brute force and sheer commitment. He plays like a typical Nigerian player.

“He could well be selected to start ahead of Tolu Arokodare in the absence of Osimhen now.”
