Folashade Ijamilusi fires hat-trick for Super Falcons to do the double over Algeria

Striker Folashade Ijamilusi today grabbed a hat-trick for the Super Falcons made up mostly of locally-based players to beat Algeria 4-1 to achieve a double over the North Africans.

The Nigerian women won the first friendly 2-0 in Ikenne at the weekend and today in Lagos it was an improved performance and a bigger win by the experimental team of coach Justin Madugu.

The Falcons started off on a strong note, taking the lead after just nine minutes through Folashade Ijamilusi.

Eight minutes later, the FC Robo striker struck once again through a rebound after a brilliant pass from captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

The Algerians pulled one back 40 minutes into the game as goalkeeper Unachukwu failed to keep out a rebound.

After conceding, the Falcons went ahead once again through Gift Monday, after a beautiful corner by Esther Oyenezide, to restore the two-goal cushion.

The game was not done yet, as Folashade was on hand to grab her hat-trick after the Algerian goalkeeper once again failed to keep out a rebound.
