Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu has said he will ring changes and deploy another tactical plan when they come up against U20 AFCON hosts Cote d’Ivoire again later today.
Zubairu said the friendlies in Abidjan were to test the readiness of the players ahead of the U20 AFCON in April and as such all the players will get a chance to show what they can do.
“The matches are to evaluate the players, so there will be changes for the second game,” he said.
He said Golden Eaglets skipper Simon Cletus, who he described as a “smart, intelligent” player, will start today after he was left out of the first game due to injury considerations.
The Flying Eagles will also use a different game plan from the first match.
“We are still going to approach the match with seriousness because we adopted a tactic that we try to look if it’s going to work during the AFCON, so we are going for another tactic to see so that we can have plan A and B,” he disclosed.
“Should plan A fail, we can quickly change to plan B.”
Kick-off time is 4.30 pm Nigerian time at the Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
