SCORENigeria has it on good authority that uncertainties now surround the kick-off of the 2025 U20 AFCON as well as the host nation for the tournament.
The Flying Eagles won the WAFU B qualifiers for the tournament originally slated for South Africa in January 2025.
However, latest information has it that CAF have formally communicated South Africa to find out their readiness to stage the tournament.
It was further learnt that CAF may now shift the competition from January to March 2025.
The U20 AFCON will produce four teams to fly Africa’s flag at the 2025 U20 FIFA World Cup in Chile, which begins in September.
Egypt hosted the 2023 U20 AFCON, which was won by Senegal.
