Kparobo Arierhi has been named Man of the Final after his brace won the Flying Eagles of Nigeria the WAFU B U20 Cup tonight in Lome, Togo.
Nigeria thus successfully defended the sub-regional crown they won in 2022 in Niamey, Niger Republic.
Kparobo, 17, from Beyond Limits Academy, netted in the 34th and 43rd minutes to give Nigeria a two-goal lead going into the break.
However, Ghana pulled a goal back after the interval, but it was not enough to stop the Nigerians’ victory party.
Kparobo finished on three goals, same as Enyimba winger Clinton Jephta.
Jephta and captain Daniel Bameyi scooped the Man of the Match awards versus Niger and Cote d’Ivoire, respectively.
Both Nigeria and Ghana have qualified for the 2025 U20 AFCON to be hosted by South Africa in January.
The top four teams in this tournament will feature at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
