The Flying Eagles under coach Aliyu Zubairu today showed encouraging signs of improvement after they defeated Assess FC of Abuja 4-2 in a test game.
This was a keenly contested game inside the mainbowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja to prepare the team for the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament later this month.
Midfielder Daniel Daga from the Flying Eagles Class of 2023 bossed the midfield, while Beyond Limits highly-rated striker Kparobo Arieri scored one of the goals and really caught the eye.
The Flying Eagles took the lead midway through the first half, before their opponents drew level from the penalty spot after the goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt from Sporting Lagos fouled a goal-bound striker inside his box.
The U20s then regained the lead and dominated proceedings thereafter.
The U20s are billed to play another test game tomorrow at the same venue.
