Nigeria’s Falconets will begin the U20 Women’s World Cup by midnight against Korea in Bogota, Colombia.
Coach Chris Danjuma said his team are free of injury and the immediate target is to get off to a good note against the Koreans before other group games against Germany and Venezuela.
“The girls are ready to do Nigeria proud,” Danjuma assured.
The team are led by captain and midfielder Oluchi Ohaegbulam and will be lifted by Rofiat Imuran, Aminat Bello, Opeyemi Ajakaye and Flourish Sebastine, who all featured in the same tournament two years ago in India, where they reached the quarterfinal.
The Falconets have played in two U20 World Cup finals, in 2010 and 2014.
This will be their 11th World Cup appearance.
