EXCLUSIVE: Flying Eagles Starting XI vs Burkina Faso

Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu has named one-time Super Eagles invitee Kenneth Igboke from Enugu Rangers as well as two players who shone at the Gothia Cup in Sweden recently to start today against Burkina Faso in a Group B U20 AFCON qualifier.

The Gothia Cup stars are winger Bidemi Amole and striker Arierhi Kparobo.

Nathanial Nwosu, who was one of the stars when Nigeria won the sub-regional tournament two years ago in Niamey, Niger Republic, will start in goal.

Highly-rated Beyond Limits FA star striker Kparobo, who has already been capped by the Golden Eaglets, will lead the strike force ahead of the all-action Charles Agada.

Clinton Jephta of Enyimba will start ahead of Sporting Lagos youngster Musa Akinfenwa on the right side of attack.

Defensive midfielder Raphael Oyebanjo is the direct replacement for Daniel Daga, who could not produce his international passport for the trip to Togo.

The midfield is completed by central midfielder Nasiru Salihu, who was the star when El Kanemi Warriors outclassed Abia Warriors in the 2024 President Federation Cup, and Croatia-based attacking midfielder Israel Ayuma.

Captain Daniel Bamayi will bring his experience to bear in the heart of the back alongside left-footed Haruna Aliyu from NPFL side Doma United.

Kick-off time is 4pm.
