At least three players from the NPFL have been listed by coach Eric Chelle on the Super Eagles 31-man provisional squad for next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
SCORENigeria scooped that the new Super Eagles coach has named Enugu Rangers central defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi as well as Papa Daniel of Niger Tornadoes on his enlarged squad, which would later be pruned down to 23 players.
The former Mali coach was impressed with both players when he watched the CHAN Eagles take on NPFL club Sunshine Stars in a test game in Ikenne.
The third NPFL player on the squad is a goalkeeper, SCORENigeria

Udinese shot stopper Maduka Okoye has been ruled out due to inactivity as he has only resumed training after surgery in December, while Francis Uzoho is injured.
Olorunleke Ojo is also out after his contract in Sudan was terminated.
Super Eagles battle Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, before they face Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25 as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume in full staeam.
