Enugu Rangers: We’re sorry to lose at home to Kano Pillars

NPFL champions Enugu Rangers have apologised to their fans after they fell 4-3 to Kano Pillars right in front of them.

It was Rangers first home loss in two seasons.

On Wednesday, Kano Pillars raced to a 4-0 lead in the first half through goals from Ahmed Musa, Rabiu Alli and Zulkifilu Rabiu.

However, ‘The Flying Antelopes’ fought back in the second half to pull back three goals.

Rangers coach Fidelis Ilechukwu apologises to fans after Kano Pillars loss.

“We apologise to our fans that came out inside the rain to cheer us despite the result of the game. We shall make it up for them,” he said.

“In football it happens. We are not happy but this is one of the things that happen in the game of football.

“I think Kano Pillars were better in the first half, in as much as I was not around in the first half, but I think in the second half we did better, breaking the jinx of only one goal a match since the start of the season.

“We scored three and it’s a sign that there is hope for the team. We have to take this small advantage of converting chances into our next game.”
