Coach Augustine Eguavoen has promised that the home-based Super Eagles will beat arch-rivals Ghana in a final playoff next month to qualify for the 2025 CHAN.
Nigeria will do battle with Ghana in another Jollof Derby around the Christmas period with the overall winners advancing to next year’s CHAN to be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
“We will qualify and do well at the CHAN,” Eguavoen declared on Eagle7fm Sports Radio station.
Incidentally, the CHAN Eagles have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the CAF competition exclusively reserved for players who ply their trade in their respective domestic leagues.
They were eliminated in the final playoffs by Ghana for the last tournament.
Eguavoen reported that the two selection phases for the team have ended and in the beginning of December a list of players for the final training camp will be announced.
