Edo Queens failed to win third place in the CAF Women’s Champions League and more prize money when they lost to FC Masar of Egypt 4-3 on penalties after 0-0 at full time.
The Nigerian champions dominated the classification game from start to finish, but they could not convert any of the better chances they created.
Edo Queens thus pocketed $300,000 in prize money as the team who finished fourth, while Masar earned $350,000.
Both teams were making their debuts in the competition.
