Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has admitted it was difficult for Rangers to get going again after the coach was sacked.
Rangers fired Philippe Clement just hours before an important Scottish Premier League clash against Kilmarnock.
“There is always a lot of talk about football and results, but we also see the human side of the story. That made the news of the dismissal emotionally difficult,” Dessers told Het Nieuwsblad.
“But at the same time we had to be there quickly, because 48 hours later there was an important match.”
Dessers’ Belgian compatriot Clement was in charge of Rangers for a total of 86 games since October 2023.
Dessers inspired a comeback with two goals for Rangers to come from two goals down to beat Kilmarnock 4-2.
