Tolu Arokodare has maintained that his critics only fire him to do more to prove them wrong.
The Genk striker has been knocked by the fans and now one of Belgium’s top pundits, Wesley Sonck, criticized him for going sleeveless in warm-up to show off his body.
“The criticism gives me extra energy in a way,” he told Het Belang van Limburg.
“I took it so hard because the man who said it was apparently a professional footballer himself.”
He said how you dress has nothing to do with your football performance.
“I just can’t stand sleeves. I always wear sleeveless shirts in the summer, at my previous club Amiens I even cut the sleeves out of our training shirts,” he said.
He has also been criticised for being arrogant and again he dismissed this.
“They infer from my body language that I would be arrogant. Anyone who knows me even a little knows that that is absolutely not true. I am who I am,” he maintained.
Trabzonspor interest in the striker is back on track, but it appears Genk will not agree for their leading scorer to leave.
