Samuel Chukwueze did not make his Premier League debut with Fulham because he has yet to settle in at the London club.
Fulham manager Marco Silva did not put Chukwueze, who is on a season-long loan from AC Milan, in the deep end against Leeds Saturday.
“It was almost impossible for Chukwueze to be involved in this game (vs Leeds) because he doesn’t even know the names of all his teammates,” Silva explained.
“He signed on the last day of the transfer window, then traveled with the national team, and only returned Thursday.
“He has had just two training sessions with us.”
The Fulham boss said new players need to bed in both on and off the pitch.
“Before they play, they must understand what to do in each moment of the game,” he said.
“They also need to settle in, even with simple things like finding a house instead of living in a hotel.”
